Walking in Umbria Umbria is one of the most densely wooded regions of all Italy. Everywhere you'll find quiet brooks and roaring torrents, gushing waterfalls and silent springs. A vast number of different hues of green accompanies the visitor on the Appenin mountains as well as in the densely populated valleys. Il Farneto is an ideal starting point for walking tours especially in spring and autumn. In Umbria there are already several hundred miles of waymarked routes for all types of hikers. You will find comfortable hiking trails as well as demanding trekking paths. The European long-distance path E1 passes Gubbio quite close. Umbria has set up six regional parks so far. One of them Monte Cucco is only a few miles away from Gubbio. On a fine day you can watch the delta-flyers and paragliders start from here and with a little luck you'll catch a glimpse of the Adriatic Sea. Mr Cipolletta is a member of the "Club Alpino Italiano (CAI)" [Italian Alpine Club]. He will be lucky to provide you with all the information and maps you need for your hiking trip. If you wish he will take care of your transfer to the starting point of your trip. He will even pick you up at your destination and take you back home.
